Reason for Effort to Preserve :
The Society for the Preservation of Corpo-Culture values the sonic exploits of Overpeer because of the impact on the listening audio public they created. We would like to show through the petition below that there is a portion of society which either appreciates some value of the Overpeer audio content or maintains that the best way to understand how society evolves is to maintain documents of key elements of creative exploits. Companies come and go, it is societies job to maintain historical documentation. Why Overpeer? Overpeer is and most likely will remain the most successful internet audio artists of all time. Without any promotional campaigns or marketing gimicks, Overpeer performed possibly billions of individual performances, very few of these recordings remain today. Conclusion : The Society for the Preservation of Corpo-Culture maintains that the loss of Overpeer mp3s would be detrimental to the understanding of early internet audio. |
